As Partner and Executive Creative Director of Threshold Interactive, John brings nearly 20 years of experience as an award winning designer, content developer, business strategist and entrepreneur to the helm of Threshold's multi-disciplined practice. John is ultimately responsible for the delivery of groundbreaking and highly effective programs to Threshold's roster of top tier clients, as well as the cultivation of a world-class delivery team.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: After earning a degree in fine arts from the University of Southern California, John started his career as a graphic designer and entrepreneur in the avant-garde street wear scene of the early 1990's. His eclectic blend of pop-culture style and exploration of new technologies earned him industry accolades and awards throughout the 90's including: DuPont Lycra's esteemed Top Designer and Action Sports Retailer's Top Company of 1995. It was during his time designing men's and women's apparel for brands such as Epoch, Rampage, Dr Martens and Hot Topic that John first experimented with the advertising and media arts that would shape his career. Towards the end of the 90's, John turned his energies to the full time pursuit of creative media development, joining the executive team of College Broadcast, a fast growing Internet funded venture, with significant cable and broadband penetration on college campuses across the country. John and his team helped to build the company from 10 people to over 100 within 12 months, successfully selling its cable assets after the dot com crash of 2000. Soon after, John started Media Arts Group (MAG), a creative services agency at the crossroads of fashion, entertainment and new media. At MAG, John led the development of multimedia marketing campaigns for brands such as Disney, Squaresoft, Nestlé Crunch, Tarina Tarantino, The California Mart, The Los Angeles Fashion District and Hot Topic. In 2005, John merged Media Arts Group with Threshold Digital Marketing to form Threshold Interactive.
PERSONAL INTERESTS: John is a dedicated husband and father of two teenagers. When they aren't testing his fortitude, John writes music, paints and swims endless laps in speedos that make his kids cringe.
As Threshold's Managing Director, Scott is responsible for ensuring that all business and marketing programs remain on strategy and are executed flawlessly. With his deep understanding of business and technology, Scott has a keen ability to develop clear and measurable marketing strategies that push the boundaries of what is possible with relationship marketing, data mining, business insights and Internet technologies. A passionate software architect, Scott is hands on with Threshold's technology team, consulting to our client's IT leaders on technical strategy and architecture issues.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Over the last 10 years, Scott has played a leadership role on digital marketing and technology projects for several leading firms including Nestlé, Honda, Sony, Harrah's, PowerBar, Mission Foods, Sempra Energy, Viacom, Gateway, Hewlett Packard, Countrywide, Ziff-Davis Publishing, Matrix Direct Insurance, and the Waitt Institute. Scott has also served on the restructuring team of a multi-billion dollar corporation and has designed zero-gravity simulators for testing the communications equipment used on the International Space Station. So yes, he can literally claim to be a rocket scientist. Scott holds an engineering degree from Montreal's McGill University and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
PERSONAL INTERESTS: Recently married, Scott spends his free time travelling with his wife, or writing white papers on technology issues for the fun of it.
As Executive Vice President of Client Services, Cheristy Bunyan is responsible for ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction across all of our business accounts. Cheristy leads Threshold's account strategy and planning, in addition to building and managing a top tier client delivery team. Also a social media specialist, she and her team recently developed a social media 101 course for the Nestlé University which is an ongoing educational program for all Nestlé business units.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Prior to joining Threshold Interactive, after earning her MBA from Pepperdine University, Cheristy Bunyan served as Vice President for Ryan Partnership/Catapult Marketing where she established a winning record as the driving force managing new business pitches. Her success arose from her ability to build solid relationships and generate added value through strategic partnerships, original ideas and cross-promotional marketing events. Cheristy's extensive knowledge in account planning also stems from her previous role as Regional Marketing Manager for Dr. Pepper/7-UP (Cadbury Beverages). Cheristy developed and executed all marketing plans for 7UP, A&W, Sunkist, Welch's, Hawaiian Punch and Country Time Brands within the CA and NM markets. Again Cheristy formed strategic partnerships and cross-promotional marketing events by forming Sports/Entertainment ventures with the PAC 10, AVP Volleyball, British Open, Universal and Warner Bros. Music Group. Cheristy began her career in consumer products marketing at Frito Lay as an Account Executive after graduating at the top of her class from California State University, Northridge with a BS in Business Administration. At Frito Lay, Cheristy managed sales goals and budgets for the Frito Lay portfolio for the Target, Subway, Sam's Club, Costco, Kraft and Leprino accounts, in addition to building, training, and coaching over twenty Sales Associates, servicing over 400 accounts.
PERSONAL INTERESTS: In her spare time you can find Cheristy dreaming of the vacation she may never get, playing with her adopted mutt Maggie Rose, enjoying her neighborhood happenings in lovely Larchmont Village and writing reality shows.
Angie Behm, VP of Entertainment Marketing, brings over 13 years of experience marketing music, movies and games to Threshold Interactive. Angie's passion for following the moving target and tracking new media trends ensures that our team and clients are educated and evolving with the latest and greatest digital and mobile possibilities. In addition, Angie offers consulting services to Threshold's non-entertainment clients on ways to leverage celebrities, artists and studios to create compelling branded content and strategic partnerships.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Wisconsin, Madison, Angie moved to North Carolina where she began her career at Hi Frequency, the street marketing arm of Mammoth Records. Here she managed the West Coast grass roots promotional efforts for musical acts such as Modeski Martin and Wood, Radiohead, Limp Bizkit, Tool & Everclear and festivals such as Tibetan Freedom Festival & Ozzfest. Eventually Angie got in her car and drove to LA in 2.5 days and freelanced for friends at record labels until landing a full-time gig in advertising sales for MTV networks. Angie worked at MTV for several years until transitioning over to International Licensing and DVD Marketing and Sales for Paramount Studios. On her lunch hour she would run at the Paramount gym where she also met many lifelong friends. It was through one of these friends that she was introduced to the owners of 65media, award-winning pioneers of rich experiential theatrical websites. Angie went to work for them in 2000- transitioning her entertainment experience into the digital realm as a producer and creative strategist on web campaigns for Finding Nemo, Lilo and Stitch, The Royal Tenenbaums, Bad Company, Signs, Possession, Monsters Inc., The Pianist, Far From Heaven, & 25th Hour, among others. Today she has built several interactive teams from the ground up for various companies and lead the award winning online campaigns for #1 at the Box Office theatrical releases like Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3, National Treasure 1 & 2, Narnia, Deja Vu and Pink Panther. She has also overseen the social media strategy for Tom Hanks and his production company Playtone, in addition to concepting and producing iPhone apps for Sony Music: including Sir Mix-A-Lot's Baby Got Back, Disney Mobile and Paramount Pictures Official Star Trek iPhone app.
PERSONAL INTERESTS: When she's not entertaining the masses, she's hanging out with her 3 year-old son in Santa Monica, reading books from her favorite authors (Oscar Wilde, Richard Brautigan, William Faulkner & Hemingway) or sailing the Pacific Ocean.
As Vice President of Technology, Michael Fienberg is responsible for building and overseeing Threshold's tech team to deliver high level technology and solutions architecture, while also working with our clients to help them navigate through today's evolving technical landscape. Michael brings more than 10 years of extensive management experience where he has been responsible for the technical vision, architecture and delivery of sophisticated mobile and business systems across a wide range of industries including, automotive, energy, healthcare, financial, aerospace, military and aeronautic.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Most recently, Michael was engaged as a Senior Manager of Technology for Sapient Corporation, where he oversaw the design and development or several large mobile iPhone and Blackberry applications for Harrah's Entertainment and the Union Bank of California. Michael was engaged as an independent consultant to the FAA, prior to Sapient where in the role of Chief Architect, he lead the technical design and architecture for the creation of a $100MM Air Traffic IDS System for every major aircraft tower and regional radar control center in the United States. As an independent software vendor and Raytheon 6-Sigma specialist, Michael also provided technical guidance and leadership for the development of an award winning ACCS, NATO Air Command and Control System that currently supports NATO Aerial Reconnaissance mission planning for strike fighter jets and unmanned drones in Middle East Theater. Before becoming independent, Michael served as the Director of Technology for ICrossing Inc, a global interactive agency in Irvine, CA. In this role, Michael helped define the technical vision and strategy for multi-channel marketing, web analytics, and mobile commerce for many leading companies including Adobe Systems, Beckman Coulter, Chevron, GMAC, Hyundai, Infiniti, Mazda USA, Nissan, Phillip Morris USA, RJ Reynolds, Teleflora, Toyota Financial Services, and Vail Resorts. Michael was recognized as the #1 Mobile Application and SMS (Text Messaging) specialist for ICrossing for his design, development, and integration of a high volume SMS channel with MazdaUSA.com. Before moving to Los Angeles, Michael worked with Ford Motor Company as a Technical Team Leader for the $10M GCAMP (Global Recall Campaign) project in Dearborn, Michigan. Managing two separate teams and over 20 senior developers, Michael was awarded with the Ford Employee Excellence award for outstanding achievement in 2002. Prior to Ford, Michael graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors of Science degree, where he went on to dedicate himself to several years of intensive software development in his role as a senior level J2EE programmer for University of Michigan Hospital internal software development, MCIT.
PERSONAL INTERESTS: In his free time, Michael enjoys diving, racing sailboats, spending time with his wife and daughter in Laguna Beach and leveraging his technical prowess to invent solutions for making the world a better place. Michael currently has patents pending for an innovative RFID technology solution designed to save lives in the Industrial Environment.
As Director of the production team at Threshold, Kim is responsible for ensuring all projects go out the door on time and on budget. She is also responsible for building nimble teams around client engagements to ensure that the best skill sets and team cultures are fostered to create the "team magic" necessary to push success over the top.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Kimberly has over ten years of experience in project management for New Media outlets with a proven track record of introducing technology tools to enhance market presence and revenue growth. Kimberly began her work in production at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia in New York and has continued to hold high-level project management roles including her work as an IT Project Manager for Future Brand and as the Director of Project Management for MRM Worldwide. She has worked with such notable clients as Epson, Wells Fargo, Microsoft and Applebee's. Kimberly joined Threshold Interactive in 2009 and has since successfully produced several large scale projects for Nestlé Butterfinger, Rachel Ray, Paramount Farms and Gerber. Kimberly is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and has received a project management certificate from the International Institute for Learning, Inc.
PERSONAL INTERESTS: When she's not running the show for Threshold Interactive and all of our clients she can be found with her two kids, husband and flock of chickens living off the land in Culver City.
